I once read an article regarding the topic of successful people, and what they do differently to, well, make them successful.
Basically, the long and short of it is, they do more in a day then the regular average person. So for example, what I accomplish in a week they will squeeze into a day. It’s something I’ve really been trying to work on. Trying to be more pro active with my days.
Success is something that I’m sure all of us have our own perceptions of, and hopefully something that we all crave. It’s definitely something that I think about on a daily basis, and try to work my life around. I think it’s helpful to pick out our weakest areas and make them stronger, or at least that something I am trying to do. For example, I really need to work on my will power to get things done, to eat a little healthier, or to get up and go for that run, to do positive things that will make life better in the long run. The second thing I pin pointed, was my need for instant gratification, making decision that are not necessarily good for me, but make me feel good at the time.
However, if I do all of this does it mean that success will fall at my feet? I think not, tenacity and hard work are key contributing factors as well, and well education? Is it imperative that we have a degree? My mind is constantly thinking about it, how to achieve what I want. How to work doing what I love, and I’m eager to know when it will happen.
I think back to last year, the choices I have made and how I have grown as a person. My main downfall being that I tend to think, why am I trying when there is someone out there who can do it better? That’s a thought I need to push out of my brain, and you do too if you’re thinking that as well. It’s okay to think that, it’s not okay to let it ruin you.
Strive to be the best at what you do and love, work hard every single day and be tenacious. If you love writing, write everyday, and if you have writers block don’t give up, read, read until you can write again. If you want to be the best at what you do, it wont just fall at your feet, but you will get where you want to be, you just have to work really hard. You can do it!
It might feel pretty impossible sometimes, I feel it too. For those of us, who haven’t had it handed to us, it’s pretty tedious, but lets hope it pays off. I think it will, don’t you?
Just a thought.
Thirsty For Thought.
